These players may or may not be contacted by Miami but fans can dream.

The men's college basketball transfer portal opened on Monday. Almost all the Hurricanes players have entered the transfer portal. Head Coach Jai Lucas is currently hiring his coaches and there is currently no movement on players contacted by the program.

As a fan, it is a delight to see all the possible players that could come to Miami. In an alternate universe from the football program, the basketball program is dwarfed in the ACC compared to other programs (Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse.)

It would be great for the program to "play spoiler" and steal some of these top players. Jai Lucas is a young coach and very good recruiter. He has the opportunity to "make his mark" right away by convincing some of these players to attend Miami.

Here is a "wish list" of players:

Issac McKneely, shooting guard, University of Virginia -- The first and most important thing is that he is a player from a rival school. Virginia has a lot of players transferring, so why not poach from them? McKneely shot 43% from the floor and three-point range this season.

Nick Davidson, center, Nevada -- North Carolina has contacted him, so why not beat North Carolina in basketball? North Carolina has made a point to beat Miami in football every year. Davidson is from California, so the Trojans have also contacted him. As per Issac Trotter of Rivals Sports, his skill set could fit into any offensive system. The guy is 6'10" and 238 pounds. He shot 67% at the rim and 37% from three-point range. Joe Tipton put on his  the list of programs that have contacted Davidson, and Miami isn't listed.

Quimari Peterson, point guard, ETSU -- He is quick and can shoot. He is a guard that has post moves. He is a good catch and shoot three-point shooter. He plays for East Tennessee so the young man needs to "level up" to a top-tier conference.

Jacob Cofie, power forward, Virginia -- He is another player from Virginia. Virginia has been a thorn in the side of the Hurricanes sports programs for so long. He is 6' 10" and weighs 232 pounds. Cofie is from Washington and would look into going back West as per this Washington Huskies fan site. Cofie though, played in the ACC but didn't play that much. He had a coach resign at the start of the season also, so Lucas' stability as a new coach would help.

Langston Love, shooting guard, Baylor -- He is a leader. He is in his final year of eligibility. He is a 6'5 shooting guard. As per Cam Stuart in a Baylor "Locked On" youtube, he is a two-way player and has a high motor.

Bobby Durkin, small forward, Davidson -- Cal has contacted the "deadeye shooter" as per Cal_Sports twitter. Durkin is a shooter but can put the ball on the floor and also absorb contact under the basket.
