It's beginning to feel more and more likely that star Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward is going to hear his name called first come draft night. Ward put up historic numbers for the Canes this past season and the buzz continues to grow that he's the best prospect for his draft class.

The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 pick and the AFC South side is in dire need of new franchise quarterback, so Ward packing his bags for Nashville makes the most sense here, right? Not so fast. In a new NFL Mock Draft for CBS, reporter Chris Trapasso thinks the New York Giants will trade up to No. 1 from No. 3 to grab Ward. Goodness.

Could the New York Giants trade up to land Miami QB Cam Ward in the 2025 NFL Draft?

"We all witnessed on "Hard Knocks" how badly Giants GM Joe Schoen attempted to move up to select Drake Maye last year," Trapasso wrote. "This time, he makes no mistake about acquiring the quarterback he wants."

Right after the Giants closed out the 2024 season, John Mara announced that both Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll would be back with the team in 2025. However, the Big Blue owner added that he's starting to lose patience and he needs to see some improvements next fall and winter.

Schoen and Daboll are on the hot seat, meaning they really need to go all-in to turn things around. After drafting Malik Nabers with the No. 6 overall pick in 2024, there's excitement surrounding the offense, but the Daniel Jones experiment finally came to an end.

Ward could step in and immediately be QB1 for the Giants and provide the fanbase with some excitement. Ward transferred to Miami after two fantastic seasons in Pullman with Washington State. He ended up throwing for 4,313 yards, with 43 total touchdowns.

He's a magician with the ball in his hands and the exact kind of QB who could completely change things for an NFL squad. The Giants tried to land Drake Maye during the last draft, but they fell short. Maybe this time around Schoen will do whatever is needed to get his own QB, with Ward potentially being his primary target.
