Nick Lennear made a jaw-dropping catch that should have Miami fans going nuts

Nick Lennear is out here just casually making acrobatic catches. 

As the high school football season approaches, the final stretch of offseason events are happening and down in Miami it was the annual "Battle of 305" invitational 7v7 Tournament, where many of the programs in Miami-Dade County get together for some friendly, but very competitive 7v7 action.

And you know Lennear, one of the five-star prospects in the area and a top commit in the Miami Hurricanes 2027 recruiting class, was going to put on a show.

Are you kidding me? There was some pretty good coverage by the corner too. He might've lost track of the ball, but he did physically put Lennear in a tough spot. Still, the Carol City product showed why 247Sports Composite has him rated as the No. 12 overall prospect in the country and the No. 2 player at wide receiver.

 Nick Lennear will be doing big things for Miami in the near future

It's hard not to get excited about Miami's class. The class is ranked in the top five on both 247Sports and Rivals/On3 with multiple five-star prospects and over 70 percent of the recruits in the class are considered blue-chip prospects with at least a 4-star designation. That doesn't even account for some of the players that aren't considered blue-chippers, but have incredible upside and should project out as very good players with the development they are going to receive in Coral Gables. 

"They pour into those five stars and blue chippers, but then you also talk about a guy like Andre Hyppolite, who is in the Rivals 300, but Miami recruited him like a five-star target. A local guy that we would not be surprised if we saw him become an All-American type player in the secondary," said Steve Wiltfong, the Rivals/On3 VP of recruiting. 

There's no question about Lennear though. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound pass catcher projects as one of the best in the country. And he, along with 4-star wide receiver commit Eli Woodard, gives the Hurricanes as strong of a future at the position as any team in the country. We'll have to be patient and let both of these talented young men show out for their high school this year, but imagine next season when they join Malachi Toney and Joshua Moore on the field? You have to think that offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson is already drawing up some plays to exploit all those potential mismatches on the field.

Until then, however, let's enjoy Lennear's catch from this past weekend with the knowledge that he'll be doing it at Hard Rock Stadium soon enough.
