Nijel Pack was a key player for Miami during the 2022-23 season when he was named the Midwest Regional Most Outstanding player as the Hurricanes advanced to their only Final Four in program history. Injuries hindered Pack during the last two seasons.

In 69 games over three seasons with Miami, Pack averaged 13.6 points per game, 2.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 38.5 percent on three-point attempts and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line with a 56.7 eFG percentage.

After playing 35 out of Miami's 37 games during his first season with the Hurricanes in 2022-23, Pack played in 25 out of 27 during the 2023-24 season and only nine out of 31 in 2024-25. Pack missed four of Miami last 10 games in February and March 2024 as the Hurricanes concluded the season with 10 consecutive losses.

Miami was 3-6 in the nine games Pack played during the 2024-25 season. The Hurricanes started the 2024-25 season 3-0 but finished 7-24. Pack led Miami in three-point attempts, makes and with a 40.4 percentage during the 2022-23 season.

Signed with Miami from Kansas State for a highly publicized $800K Name, Image and Likeness deal during the 2022 transfer portal cycle. The addition of Norchad Omier from Arkansas State to a team with returning starters Jordan Miller, Isaiah Wong and Wooga Poplar, who became a starter, were the foundation for the 2023 Final Four run.

Pack was preseason first-team All-ACC in 2024, but being limited to nine games kept him from being close to reaching that in the postseason. After being named second-team preseason All-ACC in 2023, Pack missed the postseason team due to missing seven games.

Pack was named to the watch list for the Naismith and Wooden Awards in each of his first two seasons with Miami and the Cousy Award honoring the best Point Guards nationally in 2023-24. With sixth-man Bensley Joseph, Omier, Pack and Poplar returning in 2023-24, Miami was picked second in the ACC behind Duke in the preseason poll.

The question of Pack's legacy is complicated. Pack made the game winning shot in the first round win versus Drake as Miami closed the game on a 16-1 run. Pack scored 26 points and made seven of 10 three-point attempts in the Midwest Regional Semifinal versus Houston in the most memorable game of his Miami tenure.

Pack seems unlikely to be inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame, but should be remembered as a critical player in the most successful season in Hurricanes basketball history. Miami won its second ACC regular-season title in 2023 before advancing to the first Final in program history.
