Miami quarterback Carson Beck was named to On3’s 2025 Preseason All-Transfer Portal Team on Wednesday. On3 framed the team as a list of newcomers expected to be “instant difference-makers,” and slotted Beck at quarterback after noting Miami landed his commitment less than 24 hours after he entered the portal.
The former Bulldogs starter committed to UM on Jan. 10, choosing another year of college football after initially exploring the NFL draft.

Performance-wise, Beck arrives with the kind of production that fits Miami’s recent offensive uptick. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for Georgia in 2024, posting an 80.9 QBR that ranked eighth nationally. The Hurricanes are replacing last season’s Davey O’Brien winner and Heisman finalist, who set single-season school records with 4,313 passing yards and 39 touchdown passes before going No. 1 overall. Beck is not being asked to reinvent the offense so much as to sustain and sharpen it to lead Miami to the CFP.
