When former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced he was entering the transfer portal, people were shocked. Even more folks raised eyebrows when Beck didn't waste much time in signing with the Miami Hurricanes for his final season of college eligibility.
From the moment he announced he was Coral Gables-bound, though, the haters have been out in full force to bash Beck. Multiple experts have claimed he's not a Top 10 player returning to college football next season, while others continue to rip him for Georgia falling short of expectations in 2024.
Wait, what? Beck helped this team win the SEC title. Yes he was a bit inconsistent with the ball in his hands in '24 and he didn't come close to winning the Heisman, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's poised to have a huge season for Mario Cristobal. This is something On3's J.D. PicKell has on his mind these days:
Carson Beck is set to have a monster campaign for Miami in 2025
Watching that clip, it's easy to agree with what PicKell had to say. Let's not pretend that UGA wideouts didn't have a huge issue catching the ball, as dropped passes for the Bulldogs were unreal from start to finish during the campaign. Beck would deliver things on a dime, only for balls to hit the turf.
That's not going to be a problem for him with Miami, as the Canes wideouts will be ready to step up big time for the new signal-caller in town. While Beck isn't expected to do much during spring ball, he's set to be at 100 percent for fall camp.
Once August arrives, he's going to be ready to go all-in in not only building chemistry with his new targets, including LSU transfer C.J. Daniels, but also getting back into a groove throwing the ball around. Beck will then look to make a statement in Week 1 against Notre Dame. The haters across the country will be watching closely, but Beck will silence them once and for all.
