Miami continues to be a school to watch for five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales. The Hurricanes have made major inroads with the blue-chip prospect from Indianapolis and should be considered serious competitors in a group that includes Alabama, Ohio State and Indiana.

Sales has announced that he will take official visits to all four schools, with the Miami trip scheduled for June 19. Steve Wiltfong, the VP of Recruiting for On3/Rivals, says that the Hurricanes are a school that needs to be watched closely in this recruitment.

"The program that I have a keen eye on for Monshun Sales moving forward...is Miami. He had a great visit to Coral Gables in the fall," Wiltfong said. "He was in South Florida in January for a 7v7 and I expect him back at Miami a couple more times before he decides."

Miami is 'program to watch' for five-star WR target

If Alabama wasn't considered the team to beat for Sales, the Crimson Tide are certainly in the preferred status, while Indiana and Ohio State have won the past two CFP Championships and Sales is located right in the heart of Big Ten country. So from that standpoint, Miami may have been viewed as an outsider, but Mario Cristobal loves nothing more than a good recruiting battle, and he's won plenty of them.

"I could see the Hurricanes really going on a run in this recruitment with Monshun Sales," Wiltfong added. "So, if I'm Alabama, they may have to hold off the 'U' at the end and, obviously, Indiana and Ohio State have exciting situations."

The next several months will be extremely busy for the Hurricanes in recruiting. They have a ton of top targets that are expected to stop by campus over the spring and the list of official visitors for the late spring/early summer is growing by the second. Sales is a priority target and one to watch closely, especially if he visits the campus this spring as expected.
