Quarterback Luke Nickel and linebacker Kellen Wiley were upgraded to four-star prospects in the updated 247Sports 2025 class rankings. Miami now has 13 four-star/five-star signees combined in the 2025 247Sports class rankings. Nickel is the No. 8 rated signee in the 2025 Miami class and Wiley is ninth.
Nickel is the 247th-ranked prospect, 16th QB and 35th signee in Georgia out of Alpharetta, Milton in the 2025 class. Other than incoming Georgia transfer Carson Beck, Nickel is the highest-ranked QB on the 2025 Miami roster. Nickel is projected to succeed Beck as the Miami starting QB in 2026.
Max Preps named Nickel a First-Team All-American after he completed 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 3,744 yards, 44 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a 139.4 passer rating. He added 300 rushing yards and another six scores for Milton during its 2024 State Championship season.
Nickel finished his high school career completing 64.2 percent of his pass attempts for 10,165 yards, 107 TDs, 20 interceptions and a 121.1 passer rating, while adding 700 rushing yards and another 15 scores. Nickel was one of the most prolific high school passers in the 2025 class.

Miami QB Luke Nickel and LB Kellen Wiley are now 4-star signees for Miami
Wiley is the 299th prospect, 34th LB and No. 43 signee in Florida out of Seffner Armwood, the same high school as running back Girard Pringle Jr., who is also in the 2025 Miami class. As a senior in 2024, Wiley had 75 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, four QB hurries, two interceptions, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
The 2025 Miami class is 13th in the 247Sports rankings and 14th in their composite. Edge-rusher Hayden Lowe was elevated to a five-star prospect in the 2025 class with the updated 247Sports rankings on Wednesday. Mario Cristobal has signed a Top 15 class in all three full recruiting cycles with Miami.
