The freshman season didn't quite go according to plan for Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Joshisa Trader, AKA JoJo, but the potential is there for him to be a stud playmaker for Mario Cristobal in 2025. Trader finished the season with only six receptions, but that doesn't tell the whole story.

In the Pop-Tarts Bowl, he posted three catches for 61 yards and the first touchdown of his college career. He showcased to everyone that he has all the tools to be a key piece for the offense moving forward. Just ask quarterback Cam Ward about that.

While Ward won't be throwing at the NFL Combine, he's still going through interviews and he met with the press on Friday. While speaking to reporters, the potential No. 1 overall pick didn't hesitate in saying he thinks Trader could prove to be one of the best wideouts in the country next season. Wow:

Miami QB Cam Ward is all-in on Jojo Trader having a huge 2025 season

Anyone else counting down the days for Week 1 to get here? It's going to suck for Miami fans not being able to see Ward make more plays for this team. However, the good news is he's off to the NFL and he's repping The U as much as he can.

At the same time, Ward is also confident that Trader is going to be a superstar catching the ball from new starting quarterback Carson Beck. Beck transferred in from Georgia and the expectations are already sky-high for him.

WR C.J. Daniels has arrived via the transfer portal too (from LSU), and while people are fired up to see what he can do with Beck, the fact of the matter is that Trader should also be in line for a monster campaign next fall and winter.

When he signed with Miami, Trader was ranked four stars and the No. 9 WR in the country. The hope is that he'll have a breakout second year on campus for Cristobal and his staff. Ward has no doubt in his mind that it's going to happen.
