An undefeated mark is nothing to scoff at in this part of the season. Let's take a deeper dive into the resumes of every program that doesn't have a loss going into Week 8.

1. Ohio State (6–0)

The Buckeyes have been the No. 1 team in the country since their win over then-No. 1 Texas in the opening week of the year. The win over the Longhorns looked less impressive after Texas struggled for multiple weeks and then lost to Florida, but a win in the Red River Rivalry vaulted them back into the rankings. Pair Texas having a pulse with a dominant road win over Illinois, and Ohio State gets the respect of an undefeated defending champion.

2. Miami (5–0)

The Hurricanes have the best resume in the country. Miami has defeated Notre Dame, USF, Florida and Florida State. Regardless of the natural fluctuation in week-to-week play from those teams, the fact remains: the Canes are a national title contender who has beaten two teams vying for CFP spots.

3. Indiana (6–0)

Indiana now owns the most impressive win (for now) with their road victory at Autzen over then-No. 3 Oregon. The Hoosiers are in uncharted territory now, but behind HC Curt Cignetti they seem cool under pressure.

4. Texas A&M (6–0)

A&M keeps stacking SEC wins as they just handled Florida 34–17. The win over Notre Dame remains impressive as they were able to outscore the Irish who have one of the best offenses in the country. The SEC appears to be wide open and the Aggies might be able to break through for their highest finish within the conference ever.

5. Ole Miss (6–0)

Beating then-No. 4 LSU provides a nice win on the resume, and a trip to Georgia this week is a prove-it opportunity that could vault the Rebels up this list. They are in the same position as Texas A&M in the sense that they can finish in a position that is higher than what they are used to in the SEC.

6. Texas Tech (6–0)

The Red Raiders are the opposite of Oakland A's MoneyBall, and it certainly looks like it is paying off. Tech is slotted under Ole Miss and A&M becuase the wins over Utah and Houston aren't as impressive.

7. Georgia Tech (6–0)

The Yellow Jackets flew up the rankings after their win over then-No. 12 Clemson. Since then, Clemson fell off the face of the Earth and has quietly gotten things together. But the fact remains that the ACC schedule and out-of-conference slate has not presented enough challenges for GT.

8. BYU (6–0)

BYU sits in this position for similar reasons as Georgia Tech: they haven't faced stiff enough competition yet this year. Also, three straight wins by one score or less is slightly concerning. The "Holy War" is up next and they'll have another chance to stay unbeaten.

9. Memphis (6–0)

Memphis owns the longest winning streak, longest home winning streak and has been one of the most consistent programs in the AAC. The win over SEC's Arkansas helps the resume as they wait to face tougher AAC competition such as USF and Navy.

10. UNLV (6–0)

The Rebels keep answering the call but most recently a 51–48 thriller over Air Force brings to question how good the Rebels can be. Boise State on the blue turf will test how real the surge is. Also, being led by Dan Mullen helps the cause.

11. Navy (6–0)

A dramatic 32–31 comeback at Temple kept the Midshipmen perfect but how long will it last? Notre Dame and the AAC gauntlet is coming up and could remove the donut from the loss column.
