Rumored Jordan Seaton NIL price is something Miami can't even think about

This is way too much money for Miami to potentially spend.

While a ton of attention, and understandably so, is on Duke quarterback Darian Mensah in the transfer portal, he's not the only top target left for Miami and head man Mario Cristobal. Nope, there are plenty of eyes on 5-star tackle Jordan Seaton.

Miami could make Duke's life worse by bringing in Darian Mensah's top WR too

Seaton took an official visit to Miami earlier this month, but Oregon and LSU are also going all-in to potentially grab him. With the way NIL works these days, however, everyone knows Seaton is not going to come cheap for whoever signs him.

But, just how much is he going to want for his deal? Rumors are swirling that the big-bodied lineman could be looking at something in the $4-5 million range. If that's the case, then Cristobal and his staff should let Dan Lanning or Lane Kiffin overspend here:

Miami is still hoping to land 5-star OT Jordan Seaton, but it won't come cheap

Keep in mind that while Seaton would be a massive get for the 2026 battles in the trenches, the Canes are expected to break the bank to sign Mensah for next season too. There's a February hearing standing in the way of Mensah to Miami becoming official, but there's optimism things will get done.

In addition to Mensah, pass-rusher Damon Wilson II just took his Coral Gables visit and he's been predicted to sign with Miami sooner rather than later. Wilson is the top uncommitted transfer still available via the portal - he's also going to cost quite a bit of dough.

Signing both Mensah AND Wilson would be major, but adding Seaton into the mix would be the proverbial cherry on top. Having said that, if Seaton is looking for $5 million for the 2026 season, the Canes simply can't give in to those demands.

We understand he's an elite player and can help a team win a title, but there's such a thing as overpaying and it's something Miami can't do in this instance. If the number is actually lower, then sure, by all means do what you can to beat out Oregon and LSU. A decision is expected from Seaton soon and, for now, Miami is still in the mix.
