Surprise team enters the Jordan Seaton race for Miami football to worry about

The Miami Hurricanes will have to keep eyes on this other team being in on Jordan Seaton as well...

Whoever ends up landing Jordan Seaton out of the transfer portal will be in such great shape for next season. The former five-star out of the IMG Academy spent his first two college seasons playing for Deion Sanders at Colorado. While the Buffaloes were excellent during his first year in Boulder, they were anything but that last season. It would not be a surprise if he transferred to Miami in this cycle.

However, Seaton visited Mississippi State for what can only be described as Phil Loadholt reasons...

ESPN's Pete Thamel did share on Friday afternoon that Seaton is planning on taking a visit to Miami.

With Loadholt being Seaton's former offensive line coach at Colorado, maybe the Bulldogs are more in play for him than people want to give them credit for? That team plays so incredibly hard for their head coach Jeff Lebby. The talent is not quite there in Starkville, but Mississippi State finally seems to have the right head coach in the extended wake of Mike Leach's tragic passing three seasons ago.

Maybe Michael Irvin did what he said he was going to in getting Seaton a visit to Miami at the whistle?

Miami will get a look from Jordan Seaton after his Mississippi State visit

At this point in the transfer portal window, it may very well come down to either Miami or Mississippi State for Seaton's services. Surely, there are other teams in the mix for him, but Mississippi State did get a visit out of him, and Miami is slated to get one of their own... We are talking about the best non-quarterback in this transfer portal class, folks! Whoever lands him should get a total game-changer.

The idea behind Miami being in on Seaton is that the Hurricanes are expected to lose their star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa to the 2026 NFL Draft. He is widely seen as OT1 in most NFL Draft talent evaluators' estimations. Depending on what Miami does in the transfer portal to rectify its quarterback room in a post-Carson Beck world, this team could be back in the playoff again next year.

Overall, Miami should be one of the few teams with serious aspirations to land Seaton. He is such a tremendous prospect. Miami is built to attract heavy hitters. That being said, Mississippi State is the program nobody was expecting to see be in on him. It has to mean that he has a ton of respect to his former offensive line coach. If Loadholt can pull this off, they may build a statue of him at Davis Wade!

For now, Miami still stands a great chance to secure Seaton's commitment because he will be visiting.
