Miami is one win from playing for a national championship in its own backyard, and one of the Hurricanes' recent portal departures just went to the other side of the CFP bracket. Transfer tight end Brock Schott, a (former) Miami freshman, has committed to Indiana, per On3.

TE Brock Schott commits to Indiana
If Miami beats Ole Miss in Thursday night's CFP semifinal and Indiana beats Oregon in the other semifinal, the Hurricanes and Hoosiers would meet for the national title on Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Schott's move is interesting. He's a former Miami player picking his next spot quickly in the portal window and it's a reminder of the state of college football at this current point. While both programs are in the thick of a national title hunt, players from around the country, and every program for that matter, are already focusing on the future. To see player movement between two teams that still have a major focus on this current season is definitely notable.
Schott appeared sparingly in his lone season at Miami. He recorded two catches for 24 yards in a blowout win over Bethune-Cookman in early September.
Indiana is betting on the potential
Schott is a Leo, Indiana, native who signed with Miami as a four-star recruit out of Leo High School. He was the No. 246 overall player and the No. 13 tight end in his class, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He had Indiana on his radar in high school but picked Miami over Ohio State before ultimately circling back home through the portal.
Schott recorded 28 catches for 462 yards and five touchdowns as a senior and was named IFCA "Mr. Football" at tight end.
Now, he joins a program that has undergone one of the biggest turnarounds in college football history.
