This is the time of year where recruits weigh their options, go on official visits, and post some professionally photographed pictures of themselves in gear for schools they will never end up commiting to play for. In Miami's case, with already having put together a solid 2026 class, there was more to it than social media buzz this past weekend.
In a photo that looked like a glimpse into the potential future of Miami's offense, four offensive line targets and one committed QB looked ready to take the field for the Hurricanes. The post, which made its rounds on social media, included OT Jackson Cantwell, IOL Canon Pickett, QB Dereon Coleman, IOL Breck Kolojay, and OT Joel Ervin Jr.

5-Star OT: Jackson Cantwell
Cantwell, out of Nixa, Missouri, is a towering offensive tackle coming in at 6-foot-8-inches and weighing 315 pounds. He recently committed to Miami over Georgia, Oregon, and Ohio State and has a multiyear NIL package reportedly worth over $2 million annually. Cantwell cited his spring visit and trust in Coach Cristobal and OL coach Alex Mirabal as pivotal.
Legacy IOL: Canon Pickett
Pickett carries deep Miami roots — his father, Booker Pickett Sr., played for the Hurricanes, and his older brother, Booker Pickett Jr., is currently an edge rusher for Miami. Previously, Pickett made an official visit to Clemson, and he’s scheduled to visit Florida the weekend of June 20.
Pickett is a three-star recruit ranked 445th nationally, 41st among interior offensive linemen, and 62nd in Florida, according to 247Sports. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine currently attributes a 95.8% likelihood that Pickett will commit to Miami.
QB: Dereon Coleman
Coleman is a 4-star QB out of Orlando and has been a Miami commit since July 2024. He remains locked in on Miami saying, "My recruitment has been shut down since I committed. I only have one official visit and that’s Miami." He’s positioning himself as the "quarterback of the future" with visible confidence.
IOL: Breck Kolojay
Kolojay ranks 278th in the 2026 class, 19th among interior offensive linemen, and 43rd in Florida, according to On3. He currently holds one 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction favoring Georgia, but Miami leads his recruitment with a 70.7% chance of securing his commitment.
Kolojay has already taken official visits to Oklahoma, Colorado, and Ohio State. On3 reports that he’s set for June official visits to Georgia, USC, and Tennessee, with a trip to Florida scheduled for October.
Joel Ervin Jr. — Flipped OT Commit
Ervin Jr. was initially pledged to Louisville, but flipped to Miami on March 29, calling it home and shutting down recruitment. He chose Miami over Florida, FSU, USC, Georgia, and others. After his official visit this past weekend, he completely shut down any chance of flipping again.
