If the successful flip of five-star cornerback Donte Wright proved anything, it's that the Miami Hurricanes are never too far from shaking up the foundation in recruiting. The addition of Wright brings another elite blue-chip prospect into the fold, and now it feels like Mario Cristobal is ready to put his foot on the gas and make serious noise over the summer.
Could Miami have the top recruiting class in the nation heading into the fall? It's possible and Cristobal has the Hurricanes in the picture for many of the best recruits in the country. Here are three five-star players that Miami will be trying to close in on over the next few months.

Mark Matthews, offensive lineman (uncommitted)
There's no question that Matthews remains the top uncommitted target on the board. The St. Thomas Aquinas product is a local prospect at a position that Cristobal covets. For a few weeks at the end of April, it looked like Matthews was going to be a certain loss to Texas A&M, but Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal had a great visit with Matthews and the top-rated offensive tackle in the country decided to take a step back and reassess things. Now it looks like Matthews is going to take some official visits and then make a decision. May 29 is when he will be on campus at Coral Gables and expect Cristobal to pull out all the bells and whistles needed to bring Matthews home.
DJ Jacobs, EDGE rusher (Ohio State commit)
Jacobs has been committed to the Buckeyes since Christmastime, but he's never stopped looking and the general belief is that Miami has the best chance of flipping the Atlanta-area prospect, but there are a few other schools for the Hurricanes to keep an eye on. 247Sports national recruiting director Tom Loy has been pretty adamant that Jacobs' commitment to Ohio State is shaky at best, and one that he had plenty of reservations about up until he made the announcement. Jacobs' recruitment from this point forward will be simply about following the visits. He hasn't made any public announcements about his summer schedule, but expect Miami to be on there somewhere.
Jalen Brewster, defensive lineman (Texas Tech commit)
MIami was hot on Brewster for a while and the Hurricanes still might be in the picture as the elite prospect from Cedar Hill, Texas has an official visit to Coral Gables on the docket. Will it happen? It's hard to say. Brewster has been on official visits to Indiana and SMU so far and Florida is working to give him on campus there. Cristobal will never be out of the picture for a player of this caliber, but it's fair to wonder if the Hurricanes are focusing elsewhere. We'll see where things stand if Brewster ends up taking his scheduled official on May 29.
