The week of the annual Senior Bowl is officially underway, and players from across the country have flocked to Mobile, AL to prove (or improve) their worth in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

Unsurprisingly, there are a couple of former Miami Hurricanes on the roster: offensive linemen Markel Bell and James Brockmeyer.

Despite playing in the greatest season of their young careers, they feel like they still have more to show the world, and after the first day of practice, that was panning out... for one of them.

Markel Bell and James Brockemeyer see different results at Senior Bowl

On Day 1, Miami center Brockmeyer turned heads, which shouldn't be surprising; he helped protect the Canes' backfield that made it all the way to the National Championship game.

Bobby Skinner, long-time NFL analyst and host of the Giants Nation Show, shared that Brockmeyer "held up the best against [a] strong [defensive tackle] group" out of the other offensive linemen in attendance.

Meanwhile, Bell, who played offensive tackle for the Canes, struggled to find his footing during the first practice session... literally.

In a clip from the practice that has since gone viral, Bell is put on his back side by former Michigan pass rusher Derrick Moore, quickly placing question marks around Bell and exclamation points around Moore.

No, this doesn't spell disaster for Bell's draft hopes; he was part of the same offensive line as Brockmeyer in 2025 and also played in the National Championship. However, he is going to have to prove that the first day was a fluke as the rest of the practices unfold.

The 2026 Panini Senior Bowl is scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 31, from the University of South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium. Fans can tune into the NFL Network to see the game unfold (and hopefully both former Canes boost their draft stock).
