Three Miami Hurricanes players have been recognized among the top 150 college football players for the 2025 season, according to CBS Sports' Blake Brockermeyer. Brockermeyer put together a list like this last spring as well. The players from Miami that made it onto the list include transfer QB Carson Beck, OL Francis Mauigoa, and DL Rueben Bain.

Some notable tidbits before jumping into the analysis given for the three Hurricanes players: FSU has one player — WR Duce Robinson at No. 138. Florida has four and Notre Dame has five. Cade Klubnick from Clemson came in at No. 2 on the list and Drew Allar from Penn State was ranked No. 11. Both QB's were ahead of Beck. Cornerback Xavier Lucas is perhaps a player from Miami that could have made the top-150 but didn't.

Francis Mauigoa

""Powerful, reliable lineman who's been steady for the 'Canes since Day 1. Strong in the run game with great leverage and drive. Anchors well vs. power but has had some trouble with quicker defenders and inside moves. Miami's line will lean on him in 2025, and he has clear Sunday tools with more polish.""
Blake Brockermeyer

There is a legit case for Mauigoa to be in the top 20 on this list. Brockermeyer has the junior rated as the 25th-best player and fourth-best offensive tackle. Mauigoa was 2nd-team All-ACC last season and is a preseason All-American selection for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.

The offensive tackles in front of Mauigoa include Isaiah World out of Oregon, Spencer Fano from Utah, and Alabama's Kadyn Proctor. Regardless of any preseason list or accolade, if Mauigoa can continue his progression he will be a first round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Carson Beck

""Coming off a UCL injury in the SEC title game. Threw for 3,498 yards and 28 TDs despite 12 INTs and a high number of drops in 2024. Miami's run-heavy, play-action scheme should suit him well. With everything on the line in 2025, Beck could finally hit his ceiling.""
Blake Brockermeyer

Coming off an injury and a letdown season in 2024, Beck has plenty to prove in 2025 with his new school. The ranking — No. 28 overall and 7th-best QB— for Beck makes sense but the names he is behind are a bit jarring at first glance. A lot of fans may have an issue with Allar and Klubnick being ranked so high, but Beck wasn't just lapped by those QB's. Transfer John Mateer, Garrett Nussmeier, LaNorris Sellers and Sam Leavitt also had major production spikes in 2024 to put them ahead of the former Georgia QB.

Over the last couple years, Beck has thrown for over 7,000 yards and 52 touchdowns in 27 starts. Those numbers are still impressive despite Beck not turning into the first-round QB some expected him to be during this time last year. Beck has experience and production on his side and if he is fully healthy, he'll be able to prove some people wrong on his way to the 2026 NFL Draft.

Rueben Bain

""Missed five games but still made an impact with 3.5 sacks and 22 hurries. Explosive off the edge with great change of direction and hand swipes. Can corner and redirect to the QB. Dropped weight this offseason for more speed. One of Miami's most promising defenders.""
Blake Brockermeyer

Bain was ranked at No. 98 on the list and there is not much of an argument that he deserves to be higher based off of production. But, the potential remains off the charts for Bain. In his freshman season, Bain was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year and was also selected Third-team All-ACC.

Bain received playing time his freshman year when Akheem Mesidor went down during the second game of the 2023 season. Ironically, it was Bain who was injured early in the season in 2024. He wasn't able to return to his freshman-year form post-injury, but he still managed to record 3.5 sacks and six TFL's in nine games. This offseason Bain has reportedly lost weight and is taking on a leadership role with the Hurricanes defensive line. If he can bring the momentum from spring into the fall, there is no limit on what he can do in 2025.
