Four-star combo guard Dante Allen who was previously committed to Villanova, will visit Miami per Sam Kayser of 24/7 High School Hoops (not affiliated with 247Sports). Allen has also heard from BYU, Michigan and Stanford since de-committing from Villanova per Kayser.

Allen is the son of current Heat assistant coach Malik Allen, who played at Villanova. Villanova is without a coach after firing Kyle Neptune earlier this month. The 247Sports composite rankings have Allen as the number 64 overall prospect, 12th CG and 13th player in Florida out of Monteverde Academy.

At 6'4 and 220 pounds with a 6'7 wingspan, Allen is "strong and physical with a naturally broader frame" per Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports. Allen is playing at the highest level of high school basketball an Monteverde. Duke freshman star Cooper Flagg is among the elite Monteverde alums.

In his scouting report of Allen, Finklestein said Allen can be streaky and needs to work on his shooting but he can play both on and off the ball and is a very good defender. Finkelstein summed up Allen by stating "Overall, there just aren’t too many players in the country who are more consistently productive or able to impact winning to the same extent."

Allen would be a significant addition for Miami which currently has no one in their 2025 class. Freshman Divine Uguchuku and redshirt junior A.J. Staton-McCray are currently the only players with eligiblity remaining from the 2024-25 roster who have not entered the transfer portal.

New head coach Jai Lucas was known as an elite recruiter as an assistant coach at Kentucky and Duke. Lucas is extremely late in the process, but with several other Power Conference programs attempting to put together classes late, Lucas could salvage a good class for Miami during the 2025 recruiting cycle.
