Miami Hurricanes four-star cornerback commit Jontavius Wyman has officially shut down his recruitment process. Wyman, hailing from Jonesboro, Georgia, had previously committed to the University of Georgia in July 2024 but reopened his recruitment and chose Miami over programs such as Florida State, Nebraska, and Arizona State.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, Wyman is ranked as the No. 166 overall prospect in the 2026 class, the 17th-best cornerback nationally, and the 22nd player in Georgia. His decision to commit to Miami was solidified following a recent visit to the Coral Gables campus, after which he expressed his unwavering commitment by stating he is "100% locked in" with the Hurricanes.
Wyman's recruitment journey has been notable. After his initial commitment to Georgia, he remained open to exploring other opportunities, taking visits to several universities, including Miami. The persistent efforts from the Miami coaching staff, specifically DB coach Zac Etheridge, resonated with Wyman, ultimately leading him to choose Miami as his future home. "I just felt like everything going on that’s the school I see myself playing at," Wyman said. "The culture, I love the coaches, facilities and how that program carries itself in general. The standard."

The addition of Wyman was a significant boost to Miami's 2026 recruiting class and he has the ability to become a valuable asset to the Hurricanes' defense. Wyman's commitment reflects the growing appeal of Miami's football program to top talent across the nation as well as its ability to compete with established SEC powerhouses.
Looking ahead, Wyman has scheduled his official visit to Miami for June 6th. This visit will provide him with further opportunities to connect with the program and will keep the relationship between Wyman and Miami stable.

Wyman's commitment to the Hurricanes earlier in April marked a pivotal moment for the program's 2026 recruiting efforts. Now, with Wyman shutting down his recruitment, they can focus on building off of the strong class that is beginning to form.
