It's been an incredible offseason thus far for Miami and Mario Cristobal, and it really feels like the Canes are building things up for an incredible future. On the list of 2027 commits is touted defensive lineman Ezekiel Ayangbile, who is 100 percent locked in with a future in Coral Gables. The standout 2027 playmaker has made that quite clear.

Just recently, On3's EJ Holland caught up with him, and the 6-2, 265-pounder from Houston did not hold back on why he's so excited about playing for Cristobal. Straight up, Ayangbile knows that suiting up for Miami is a total no-brainer for him:

"I committed to the University of Miami because it feels like home," he said. "Everyone around me is here to get me to the highest level, and develop me to be the best person and best man I can be outside of football. Go Canes."

Those are some great words from the youngster, and they highlight the great pitch Cristobal and his staff are making to their top targets. Yes, the Canes want to bring in playmakers who will help this team push for a national title, but at the same time, they want to bring in high-character guys as well.

Ayangbile fully understands that Cristobal will do everything he can to help the stud DL get to the NFL, but also that Miami is going to help prepare him for life after football too. If you're a commit's parent, there's no need to worry about how things are going to go for your boy at Miami, as Cristobal continues to prove he's a great leader of young men.

With Ayangbile in particular, he was a monster get for the ACC side when he announced his commitment on May 8. Per the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked four stars, the No. 22 defensive lineman in the country, and No. 187 prospect nationally for the '27 class. He also had a boatload of offers to his name.

Ayangbile ended up picking Miami over 37 additional programs, including Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, Florida, Ohio State, Stanford, and others. He's one of 19 pledges for Cristobal, with Miami hoping to put the finishing touches on what's already becoming a loaded class. Might a surprise or two be on the way late? We're of course keeping our eyes on 5-star pass-rusher DJ Jacobs, though as he continues to hint he's not going to flip from Ohio State.

Even if that doesn't happen, Cristobal is on his grind recruiting, and the buy-in from the guys who have a seat at the table has been pretty awesome to see. Ayangbile knows playing for Miami is a true honor, and it's something he's already dreaming about. He's saying all the right things even before moving to campus, but once he does head to Miami for good, he'll be ready to back things up with some electric play on the field for Cristobal and Co.
