Mario Cristobal is going in full force in the 2028 recruiting class and if early momentum is any indication, the group promises to be as highly-regarded as the recent classes signed by the Miami Hurricanes.
The top targets are starting to materialize, and the Hurricanes will be adding more at the offensive skill positions — wide receiver, running back and tight end. Miami is already at the top of the list for in-state running back Xander Edwards and another big-time target is 4-star wide receiver Dennis Tua'one.

As much as Cristobal and the staff are known for their incredible work in recruiting trench warriors, there's no absence of offensive skill in these classes. The 2027 class is a little small on the numbers, but Nick Lennear is a five-star commit from right down the street in Miami Gardens (Carol City High School) and Eli Woodard is another blue-chipper from Southern California. Add those two to four-star running back Ty Keys and the class is strong in quality.

4-star WR Dennis Tua'one remains high on Miami as his recruitment heats up
The 2028 class might be a little larger and Cristobal has cast an even wider net for talent. Tua'one plays high school football in Utah, and he's not the only player from the Beehive State that the Miami staff is targeting, but the blue-chip receiver is very familiar with the Hurricanes program.
Tua'one is actually from the area and spent his early years around the Fort Lauderdale area. He grew up as a Hurricanes fan and plays for one of the 7v7 teams based out of the Miami area. He even shared his fandom in a story published by CanesInSight last month.
"The [Legends camp] definitely made an impact on my recruitment. Being around the U again, competing on campus, and seeing how they operate just made the connection stronger," Tua'one told Trinton Breeze during an interview with the site.".

The only thing that's consistent in college football is change. That goes for the state of the game and the state of each team's rosters. Lennear and Woodard are going to come in at wide receiver next year, and it's highly likely that 2027 will be Malachi Toney's final season before he heads to the NFL. It could also be a pivotal season for Joshua Moore as well.
So as those guys are likely to head out to the next level, the future has to be ready to step in. The expectations are that players like Lennear and Woodard will step in and contribute as true freshmen and will be the young leaders on the offense in 2028 when other true freshmen come into the program. Cristobal is banking on Tua'one being one of those guys.
