A'mir Sears has so many great highlights this week that it's hard to choose just one

The Hurricanes commit was at it again this week.

A'mir Sears is a cheat code come to life.

The 5-star Miami Hurricanes commit was back on the field Thursday night in the Columbus season opener against a Miami Southridge team that has a lot of buzz in south Florida, and it quickly became another showcase for the top athlete in the 2027 class.

Remember that Sears should be a junior this year! Look at the way he opens up after he has to contort his body to make the catch on a pass that was behind him. Despite being forced to turn around, Sears quickly gained control and turned on the jets to get to the end zone. It doesn't take long to see the explosive speed and athletic ability.

A'mir Sears is making memories on Friday nights

As will be the case all season, Sears is playing both sides of the ball and nearly every snap. Thursday night, he was on the field for most of the Explorers' 45-7 win.

The competition for Sears will be considerably tougher over the next few weeks, and we'll see how he matches up in pads against the best players in the state and the country. Next week, it's an ESPN-televised national showcase against Las Vegas powerhouse Bishop Gorman, one of the top five high school teams in the nation.

After that challenge, we will see how Sears fares against perennial champion St. Thomas Aquinas and, finally, Miami Palmetto, which is expected to be another contender for a state championship. It's exactly the kind of challenge that Sears wanted when he made the decision to transfer to Columbus and reclassify to the 2027 class.

Now you see that highlight, and you think "There's no way that Sears won't play some offense once he gets to Coral Gables." I mean, in that clip he looks like Julio Jones did when he was in high school. But then you scramble deeper into the interwebs and see that Sears had a shut-down game playing cornerback as well.

As we've mentioned before, having a player on the roster that could be good at everything isn't exactly a bad problem to have. Mario Cristobal and the coaching staff will get him on the field as quickly as possible, and they've always shown the ability to pivot and cross-train players at different positions.

The best part of this dilemma is that Sears is locked in Miami. He's a local prospect that wants to put on for his home team and in front of his family. Sears is part of a class that has five different commits with 5-star rankings and all of them are going to be champing at the bit on the Greentree practice fields soon enough.

Until then, let's enjoy all the highlights we're going to see from Sears in his final year of high school football.
