Another Miami transfer commits to NC State but they won't be on the 2026 schedule

It's safe to say that Jojo Trader was a Miami fan favorite, as the wideout was a local product who decided to play his college ball close to home. Unfortunately, things just didn't work out for the Hollywood, Fla. playmaker, as he has already said goodbye to Coral Gables.

In case you missed it, Trader made the call to enter the transfer portal recently, as he's looking for more playing time elsewhere. Well, it didn't take him long to find a new home. On Monday night, news broke that Trader has decided to sign with NC State:

Trader joins linebacker Raul Aguirre Jr. in making the move to Raleigh. We knew NC State wasn't going to be on the schedule for next season - the 2026 list was finalized on Monday night, but fans are not happy with the start of the new campaign due to no Saturday games in the first three weeks.

As for Trader, he spent two years with Miami and Mario Cristobal. In 2024, he posted six receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown. The hope was that he'd be able to make a giant leap in 2025 and be a focal point on offense - he finished with 13 receptions for 178 yards and one score.

Malachi Toney, the freshman sensation, was absolutely brilliant making plays for Carson Beck, with him stealing the show a bit for the receivers room. Come next season, Toney is expected to be not only one of the top players in the ACC, but in the country.

Now that Trader is going to be with NC State, he's going to have CJ Bailey throwing him the ball. Overall, this feels like a pretty solid fit for the young speedster. We would have loved to see things go to plan for him with Miami, but he's now ready to take advantage of this new opportunity. Fans will definitely be wishing him well in the future.
