In hot pursuit of a shiny new power forward, Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes have been targeting former Kansas Jayhawk Bryson Tiller, who entered the transfer portal after his freshman season.
The Canes almost immediately expressed their interest, and Tiller did the same, taking a trip to Coral Gables as well as scheduling visits to the Arizona Wildcats and Missouri Tigers.
Well, with his trips to Miami and Missouri under his belt, he seems to have already narrowed the search for his next program, cancelling his visit to Arizona.
While it doesn't entirely rule out the Wildcats as Tiller's future program, it's a great sign that the Hurricanes have a foot in the door while the 'Cats have missed out on landing a young star with boundless potential.
Bryson Tiller cancels visit to Arizona after trips to Miami, Missouri
Tiller quickly became a starter during his freshman season with the Jayhawks, playing in 35 games and earning 31 starts. Over the year, he averaged an impressive 7.9 points, 6.1 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 rebounds per game.
While Missouri is still one of the fellow frontrunners to land Tiller's commitment, Miami is trending in the right direction as well, with the Tigers, the Wildcats, and the Hurricanes being the only teams to extend him an official offer so far.
According to On3, Missouri currently holds a 72.7 percent chance of earning Tiller's commitment, but the Canes aren't too far behind with a 23.9 percent chance.

The transfer portal window will remain open for six more days, until April 21, and during that period, players can continue to decide whether or not they want to officially enter their names in the hat.
That deadline does not, however, cut coaches off from continuing their recruiting effort once the 21st of the month arrives, giving Lucas (as well as any other head coaches) continued ability to recruit star transfers like Tiller.
