On Jan. 13, 2025, four-star wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens committed to the Miami Hurricanes and head coach Mario Cristobal over a slew of other perennial programs.

Yesterday, Stevens announced a slate of official visits he had lined up, including one to see the Canes but also including trips to see three other powerhouse teams.

Just like that, a blue-chip prospect who seemed like a sure lock for Miami and Cristobal is suddenly on flip watch as he takes his time visiting other teams who are undeniably interested in his changing his decision.

Ah'Mari Stevens official visit schedule

  • LSU Tigers - April 18
  • Miami Hurricanes - May 29
  • Georgia Bulldogs - June 5
  • Texas Longhorns - June 19

With trips to three of the most dominant SEC programs since the turn of the century, it's no surprise that Canes fans are all of a sudden on pins and needles, wishing and waiting for Stevens to shut down his commitment and cement his future with Miami.

Stevens is the No. 23 wideout in the class of 2027 and is the No. 17 overall prospect out of Florida for the recruiting cycle. So, it's no wonder he's received a lot of national attention. However, he quickly locked up his commitment to the in-state program and gave a boost to Miami's recruiting class.

Currently, the Hurricanes' class of 2027 is ranked 10th in the nation and features just four blue-chip prospects, headlined by Stevens' commitment. The young wideout is joined by four-star athlete Demarcus Deroche, four-star safety Jaylyn Jones, and three-star offensive tackle Zaquan Linton.

If Cristobal can't hold onto Stevens' commitment, the Canes' upcoming class could see itself quickly dropping down the rankings.

Thankfully, Stevens' list of official visits does include Miami, and the Hurricanes can use it to prove that he belongs in Coral Gables, and certainly not in the SEC.
