The Miami Hurricanes held their highly anticipated Pro Day in front of all 32 NFL teams on Monday. Quarterback Cam Ward was the main attraction of the day as he is the projected No. 1 overall pick but it was also Xavier Restrepo who made headlines for his 40-time. There were 20 total players from Miami particpating in the Pro Day who are looking to make the jump to the next level. Here is the rundown on each of them (outside of Ward):
Elijah Arroyo (TE): Arroyo abstained from the 40-yard dash due to a knee bone bruise sustained during the Senior Bowl, an injury that also sidelined him at the NFL Combine. In 2024, he led all tight ends nationally with an average of 16.9 yards per reception, amassing 590 yards and seven touchdowns.
Xavier Restrepo (WR): Restrepo recorded an unofficial 4.81-second 40-yard dash, which surprised many. He surpassed the 1,000-yard mark each year so the overall feeling is that his tape will do the talking. After the Pro Day concluded, Restrepo mentioned that he ran the 40-yard dash after his right hamstring tightened up during warm ups.
Jacolby George (WR): George's unofficial 40-yard dash times ranged in the 4.6-second area. Reflecting on feedback from NFL scouts, he noted, "The NFL scouts talk about how they like the way I can create separation and how I can make plays after the catch." At the NFL Combine, he recorded a 32.5-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump.
Sam Brown (WR): Brown participated in wide receiver drills during Pro Day. At the NFL Combine, Brown impressed with a 4.44-second 40-yard dash and a 41.5-inch vertical jump.
Jalen Rivers (OL): Rivers' versatility has garnered NFL interest, with teams envisioning him in multiple line positions. He stated, "They see me as a tackle, as a swing tackle that plays guard, and teams know I can snap the ball too. Teams see me everywhere along the line." Throughout his Miami career, Rivers started 33 games across guard and tackle roles. At 320 pounds, he recorded a 5.29-second 40-yard dash and a 9-foot broad jump.
Damien Martinez (RB): Martinez participated in running back drills at Pro Day. At the NFL Combine, he posted a 4.51-second 40-yard dash and logged a 35-inch vertical at 217 pounds.
Tyler Baron (DE): Baron took part in defensive line drills during Pro Day. In 2024, he tallied 38 tackles, 11 for loss, 5.5 sacks, and led Miami with 48 pressures. At the NFL Combine, the 6-foot-5, 260-pounder clocked a 4.62-second 40-yard dash and a 35.5-inch vertical jump.
Simeon Barrow (DT): Barrow impressed with an unofficial 4.88-second 40-yard dash. In 2024, he led Miami's interior defensive line with 30 tackles, eight for loss, 5.5 sacks, and 30 quarterback pressures.
Kiko Mauigoa (LB): Mauigoa participated in position-specific drills. His four-year collegiate career, starting at Washington State, totaled 255 tackles, 36 for loss, 13 sacks, and three interceptions. At the NFL Combine, the 6-foot-2, 233-pound linebacker ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash and achieved a 35-inch vertical.
Zach Carpenter (OL): Carpenter engaged in position-specific drills. He started 40 games across stints at Michigan, Indiana, and Miami. In 2024, Pro Football Focus credited him with allowing 16 pressures and three sacks.
Andy Borregales (K): Borregales showcased his range by converting multiple kicks beyond 50 yards, though he acknowledged missing three attempts. "I was hitting the ball great at the end of the day and I made one from 65 yards away, so it was a good day," Borregales said. "For me it is just about honing in on the accuracy and I am continuing to work on that."
Elijah Alston (DL): Alston abstained from the 40-yard dash due to a minor hamstring injury. After transferring from Marshall, he faced an injury-plagued 2024 at Miami, appearing in eight games and recording 19 tackles, four for loss, 2.5 sacks, and an interception.
Daryl Porter (CB): Porter logged a 4.65-second 40-yard dash at Pro Day. Splitting his college career between Miami and West Virginia, he amassed 108 tackles and one interception.
Meesh Powell (DB): Powell recorded an unofficial 4.70-second 40-yard dash. As Miami's free safety in 2024, he notched five interceptions and 38 tackles.
