This is going to be the moment that Carson Beck and Miami have been waiting for. The Hurricanes were able to sneak into the College Football Playoff and a first-round dance with Texas A&M in College Station is on the schedule. Is an upset on the way?

Dream Carson Beck replacement for 2026 season won't be entering the portal

That's what everyone in South Florida is hoping for, but things are not going to be easy for Mario Cristobal and his team. This week, the one and only Joel Klatt spoke with Colin Cowherd and he offered up his thoughts on how things could go for Miami - let's just say he's not too high on the ACC side heading to A&M and potentially pulling off a stunning road win.

Joel Klatt has plenty of Miami concerns before the Canes take on Texas A&M

“I get a bit nervous about the A&M pass-rush getting to Beck, and Beck, you know, giving a couple of turnovers away in that game, which he’s prone to do," Klatt said during his time with Cowherd. "And here’s the other part, yeah they beat Pitt on the road, but typically Mario (Cristobal) has really struggled now in the month of November, you know, but in big games late in the season on the road, and this environment is going to be as tough of an environment as there is in college football in Kyle field. They will be going, so because of those factors, I would lean A&M. But, you're not wrong. Miami has a team capable of going in there and winning, I just think it's going to be really difficult to do so."

If anything, this adds extra pressure on the Miami offensive line to step their game up and make sure Beck has more than enough time to scan the field. On top of that, Klatt wants to see if Mario Cristobal can get the monkey off his back and win a big game for Miami.

Cristobal is without a doubt one of the best recruiters in college football, but after Miami missed the CFP last season due to a late-season choke, people have been quick to bash him. While Klatt isn't bashing him here, he's also sharing his doubts that he has with the veteran coach.

Miami can silence all of that talk by taking down Mike Elko, Marcell Reed and Co., but as Klatt said, it's not going to be easy. The Canes are going to have to play perfect football in order to come out on top. If they don't, another loss will be on the way and Klatt will be proven right.
