Things are really starting to get interesting for 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who is ranked the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 prospect overall in the country. Cantwell has a boatload of schools after him, but the Miami Hurricanes have made his list as a finalist.

If you've been following Cantwell along here at Canes Warning, you read earlier in the week that the big-time recruit will be on campus on March 17 for a two-day unofficial visit. He'll then be taking unofficials to Ohio State and Michigan before taking his official visits later in the year - Miami will be getting one of those.

While previously it may have seemed like a long shot for Miami to be in the running, things sure have changed. Steve Wiltfong of On3 provided an update on where things stand between Cantwell and the ACC powerhouse, with Miami sure giving the youngster a lot to think about:

Miami appears to be making a splash with 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell

Things started to heat up for Cantwell with Miami, per Wiltfong, when he took his first UOV to campus for a game in the fall. Mario Cristobal and his staff have only upped their recruiting efforts since then, making an impact on Cantwell.

Obviously, they'll need to really impress him during his March visit and then make sure he has an even better time on campus when he returns for his official. Right now, the plan is for Cantwell to take OVs to Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia and Missouri.

Following those trips, Cantwell will then return home and think things over with his family before announcing his college decision before his senior season gets underway. As most of you know, however, anything can change when it comes to recruiting.

Cantwell could end up taking a trip to a school, realize it's 100 percent the right fit for him and shut things down - you just never know. What we do know, though, is that Miami is right in the mix of things and Cristobal can send a statement to the rest of the CFB world should he end up signing Cantwell next December.
