Miami earned its third transfer of the 2026 portal cycle with the addition of power forward Desean Goode from Robert Morris. Goode was the 2025-26 Horizon League Player of the Year after averaging 15.2 points per game on 62.9 percent from the field, 57.1 percent on three-point attempts, with 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Five-star freshman Caleb Gaskins, Goode and rising sophomore Shelton Henderson provide Miami with one of the best forward rotations nationally. Miami previously received commitments from Georgia center Somto Cyril and Villanova point guard Acaden Lewis.
Cyril, Goode and Lewis provide Miami with the fifth-best transfer class in the 247Sports rankings. Miami also returns starting shooting guard Dante Allen and expects to have forward Marcus Allen back after he missed most of the 2025-26 season receiving treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Goode is the 70th-ranked transfer and 18th PF in the 2026 portal by 247Sports. Miami will be the third program for Goode in as many years after he played his freshman season at IU-Indianapolis. Miami beat out Kansas, Louisville and St. John's to earn the commitment from Goode per On3.

Goode performance against power conferences
Goode scored 11 points on four out of six from the field, made both of his three-point attempts and his only free throw with three rebounds and two assists in a 101-69 Robert Morris loss to Iowa in the season opener. Iowa lost in the 2026 NCAA Tournament South Regional Final.
Goode scored in double figures in 29 out of 33 games in 2025-26. In 13 games in 2025-26, Goode produced at least 10 rebounds. Miami gains an exceptionally versatile player who should be able to play with Gaskins when Henderson is out. At 6'8 and 230 pounds. Goode should also be able to provide minutes at center.
Jai Lucas and the Miami staff will continue filling out the roster. Expect Miami to add some unsigned high school prospects, international players and more transfers to fill out the 2026-27 roster. The top six for Miami should be among the best in the ACC in 2026-27.
