Promising Florida International power forward Eric Dibami is visiting Miami on Thursday, per Peter Ariz of Canes Insight. Dibami is the 296th-ranked transfer and 60th PF in the 2026 portal per the 247Sports rankings. Dibami fits the profile of head coach Jai Lucas wanting to sign local prospects.

At 6'10, 240 pounds, Dibami started all 30 games for FIU in 2025-26, averaging 9.3 points per game, on 52.7 percent from the field, and 51.2 percent from the free throw line with 7.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks. Dibami missed his only three-point attempt in 2025-26.

Originally from Yaoundé, Cameroon, Dibami averaged 14.7 PPG at ABF Academy in Hialeah in 2024-26. Dibami would provide Miami with exceptional depth on the frontline. Miami returns small forward Shelton Henderson, signed five-star power forward Caleb Haskins in the 2026 class and added Georgia transfer center Somto Cyril.

Dibami has three years of eligibility remaining. Syril is a senior. Gaskins could leave for the NBA Draft after one season in Miami. If Gaskins enters the 2027 NBA Draft, Dibami could provide Lucas and Miami with a long-term post presence on the roster.

Breakout freshman season

Dibami was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team and Conference USA All-Defense Team in 2025-26 as well as being named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week three times this past season. Dibami is an exceptional offensive rebounder, averaging 3.2 per game,

Finding a quality post reserve for Miami is extremely important. Cyril averaged 2.9 fouls in 21.2 minutes per game in 2025-26. Dibami averaged 3.2 fouls in 29.0 MPG as a freshman for FIU. Cyril and Vllanova point guard Acaden Lewis gives Miami the eighth-best 2026 transfer class per 247Sports.

Miami has its projected starting five in 2026-27 with Lewis, Dante Allen at shooting guard, Henderson at small forward, Gaskins at PF and Syril at center. Lucas and his staff are working on adding depth. Wing Marcus Allen is expected to return after missing most of the 2025-26 season due to treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
