The transfer portal has been open for just a few days, and the Miami Hurricanes have already been busy, working to secure players who can perfectly complete a puzzle with a few missing pieces.

That includes Miami head coach Jai Lucas and his staff recruiting four-star big man Somto Cyril, the No. 4 center and No. 19 overall prospect in the portal.

Cyril just wrapped up his second season for the Georgia Bulldogs, making 32 starts in 33 games and averaging 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 0.6 assists per appearance. Now, he's been crystal-balled to bring his talents to Coral Gables.

Somto Cyril predicted to commit to Miami

Trinton Breeze, a Canes basketball writer, entered his prediction that Cyril would make a commitment to Lucas and Miami, despite rumors circulating that he would head to Arkansas to play for Razorback head coach John Calipari.

When Cyril was first heading to college, he initially committed and even signed his paperwork to play for Calipari when he was still the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats.

When Calipari left Kentucky for Arkansas, Cyril decided to take his talents to Georgia instead. Now, it looks like Calipari is set to miss out on the highly coveted big man once again.

Lucas and the Hurricanes have yet to land a commitment from the portal, but have lost four players who decided to transfer after their season ended: point guard Tru Washington, shooting guards Noam Dovrat and John Laboy, and small forward Treyvon Maddox.

Picking up a big man like Cyril would help to replace the experience and the size that Miami could lack in the frontcourt, but the Canes would also need to replace the holes that now exist in their depth for the backcourt.
