After winning the first game of the series 11-9 on Friday night, Miami dropped the next two, 13-6 in the second contest in the back half of a double-header and 12-7 on Saturday night to North Carolina State. The Wolfpack ended the Hurricanes' six series winning streak.
After losing a 6-0 lead, Miami rallied with a five-run seventh inning to defeat North Carolina State 12-9 on Friday. Miami beat North Carolina State in the first game of a doubleheader and the opener of a three-game series in Raleigh.
Miami scored two runs in the top of the first inning and four runs in the second to take a 6-0 lead. An Alex Sosa three-run home run in the second that scored Max Galvin and Derek Williams gave Miami the 6-0 lead. Lazaro Collera allowed two hits and a walk through the first 3.1 innings before North Carolina State scored.
After getting the first out of the fourth inning, Collera allowed seven consecutive hitters to reach base with five scoring before he was relieved by Sebastian SantosOlson. SantosOlson allowed the next two hitters to reach base as three more runs scored to give NC State an 8-6 lead.

One swing comeback
NC State added a run in the fifth to extend the lead to 9-6. Miami began its comeback in the top of the seventh. Jake Ogden walked with the bases loaded to cut the deficit to 9-7. Max Galvin flipped the score from a two-run Miami deficit to a two-run lead with a grand slam to put the Hurricanes ahead 11-9.
A Derek Williams RBI single in the eighth extended the Miami lead to 12-9. Brixton Lofgren got the win in relief. Lyndon Glidewell pitched the final two innings with four strikeouts for his third save. Five Miami batters had multiple hits, with Galvin and Ogden each recording three.
North Carolina State appeared on the verge of a run-rule victory in game two on Friday night. The Wolfpack scored three runs in the second inning, one in the fourth and seven in the fifth to take an 11-0 lead. Miami scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to avoid being run-ruled.
NC State added two runs in the bottom of the seventh to extend its lead to 13-6, which was the final score. Miami maximized its five hits by adding seven walks for the six runs. NC State also earned seven walks with its eight hits in scoring the 13 runs.

Christian Serrano hit a three-run HR in the second inning to get NC State going. Ty Head and Luke Nixon also had multiple RBIs for NC State. Normally reliable Rob Evans allowed four earned runs in 3.2 innings to drop to eight wins and three losses.
Cooper Consiglio pitched six innings, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks and nine strikeouts to earn the win. Sam Potts and Christian Harris pitched the final innings combined to end any chance Miami had for an epic comeback.
Luke Nixon led NC State on Saturday. Nixon hit two HRs and drove in X. NC State scored the first two runs of game three in the second inning on an error and a groundout. Miami surged ahead with a five-run fourth inning. NC State answered with a three-run Nixon HR to tie the game at five in the fifth inning.
Miami answered with a two-run double by Galvin in the top of the sixth to take a 7-5 lead. A Nixon HR cut the deficit to 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh inning. NC State added two more runs in the seventh to take the lead for good. A Sherman Johnson grand slam in the eighth extended the NC State lead to 12-7.
Johnson had three hits in five at-bats with two runs scored and five runs driven in on Saturday. Nixon had two hits in four at-bats with three runs scored and four RBIs. Anderson Nance pitched the final 5.2 innings with nine strikeouts for North Carolina State. The Miami bullpen allowed six runs.
