Last offseason, Cam Ward changed his mind and instead of entering the NFL Draft out of Washington State, he decided to play one more season of college ball to raise his stock, eventually signing with the Miami Hurricanes. What a decision that turned out to be.

Following a historic season suiting up for Mario Cristobal, Ward has not only made himself a Top 5 lock, but it's now feeling like it will be a shocker if he's not taken first overall. The Vegas oddsmakers sure think that's the case. Last week, Ward was set at +105 to be the No. 1 pick, but things have since changed to -105. He's the clear favorite over Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.

Cam Ward is becoming a heavy favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft

This past season for the Canes, Ward tossed for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. He had Miami in a great spot to push for an ACC title and a trip to the College Football Playoff, but the defense, well, let's just leave it at that.

Regardless, Ward has all the tools to be a stud in the league and the Titans need an answer at quarterback. The Will Levis experiment didn't go to plan - not by a long shot. Sanders is another signal-caller who plenty of people are hyping up for the AFC South side, but Ward, in our opinion, is clearly the better prospect.

Come late April, we'll find out how things shape out at the top of the draft. With Myles Garrett asking for a trade, it could change the entire game plan for Cleveland at No. 2. However, that shouldn't matter when it comes to Ward.

Barring a late surprise, it's looking like he's well on his way to becoming the second QB in Miami history to be taken No. 1 overall. Should that happen, it will be a tremendous honor for Ward and one he fully deserves.
