Miami Hurricanes freshman running back Girard Pringle Jr. recently fulfilled a heartfelt promise by purchasing his mother her dream car: a Jaguar SUV. Sharing the news on his Instagram story, Pringle expressed his gratitude and love, stating, "This something that you have always wanted and this is something I couldn't wait to do... I'm glad God blessed me to be able to do this for you. I love you." Pringle's gesture shows the impact of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). Players like Pringle can provide significant support to their families and it allows for great moments such as this one.
Pringle is a running back from Seffner, Florida, who has exceptional speed and playmaking abilities. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 182 pounds, Pringle attended Armwood High School in Florida. As a sophomore, he recorded 107 carries for 622 yards (5.8 yards per carry) and six touchdowns over eight games. He also contributed in the passing game with 15 receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown.
In his junior year, Pringle amassed 237 carries for 1,732 yards (7.2 yards per carry) and 24 touchdowns. Additionally, he had seven receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown, along with a kickoff return touchdown during the playoffs, helping Armwood achieve a 10-2 record and reach the regional semifinals in Florida's 3M classification.
In his senior season, Pringle logged 1,004 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 123 carries (8.2 yards per carry) in nine games. He also added seven receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Pringle was ranked the 132nd prospect nationally and the 21st player in Florida in the 2025 class.
Miami is losing starting running back Damien Martinez to the NFL Draft but Pringle may still have to wait for his turn. Mark Fletcher Jr, Jordan Lyle and Chris Weatley-Humphrey all seem to be ahead of him on the depth chart.
