With the transfer portal work in the rearview mirror, Mario Cristobal and his Miami assistants have been on the road this week connecting with 2027 targets. This includes making the trip to North Carolina to meet with highly-touted cornerback Joshua Dobson.
Darian Mensah breaks his silence on Miami signing and his comments are gold
Dobson is one of the top playmakers in the country for his class and everyone is chasing his commitment. On Thursday, defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman, fresh off an incredible first season with the Canes, checked in with the youngster. You better believe that Hetherman let Dobson know he's a top priority for the ACC powerhouse moving forward:

Miami football is working to potentially land 5-star CB Joshua Dobson
Dobson is closing in on 30 offers, as he currently has 28 to his name. His long list includes Miami, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and many others. He took a recent unofficial visit to Auburn according to his 247Sports page.
Speaking of 247Sports, its Composite rankings have Dobson listed as a 5-star talent, plus the No. 2 cornerback in the country and No. 3 prospect nationally for '27. He's also the No. 1 player out of North Carolina, which tells you how special his game is.
That picture of Dobson and Hetherman above is pretty dang cool, as the two of them throwing up 'The U' with a smile on their faces has people talking. While that's great, the next order of business will be for Cristobal to get the youngster on campus as soon as possible.
That could potentially happen this spring, while an official visit during the season to show him the game day experience could be a smart move too. Dobson has schools from all over the country hoping he gives them their verbal.
Thus far for the '27 haul, Miami has picked up pledges from safety Jaylyn Jones, wide receiver Ah'Mari Stevens, EDGE Demarcus Deroche and offensive tackle Zaquan Linton. Obviously, more commits will be on the way and the Miami faithful will be hoping Dobson joins in on the future in Coral Gables as well.
