Miami will get multiple shots at one of the top cornerbacks in the 2027 class. JuJu Johnson, a four-star defensive back from Long Beach Poly in California, has scheduled an official visit to Coral Gables for May 29-31, giving Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes a chance to make a move on a highly ranked national target.

Four-star CB JuJu Johnson sets May official visit to Miami
Johnson also has official visits lined up to Nebraska on June 4, Oklahoma on June 12 and UCLA on June 19.
Johnson is also expected to get to Miami before that official visit. He will go on an April 4 trip to Coral Gables, which would give the Hurricanes an earlier chance to get him around the program during spring practice before he returns in May.
The 247Sports Composite rankings place him as the No. 65 overall player in the country, the No. 8 cornerback nationally and the No. 7 prospect in California in the 2027 cycle. In 247Sports' own rankings, he checks in at No. 107 overall, No. 12 among cornerbacks and No. 11 in California.
Miami is getting Johnson on campus, but the Hurricanes are still working from behind. On3 currently gives Oklahoma a 95.3% chance in its Recruiting Prediction Machine, with Nebraska at 2.2% and Miami at 1.1%. Miami will have a lot of ground to make up over the next few months, but it's definitely not impossible.
Miami's 2027 class is No. 8 nationally and No. 1 in the ACC (per On3 industry). On Tuesday, the Hurricanes received two commitments: DL Josh Johnson and DB Sherrod Gourdine. Both players are from Florida — same with most of the commits in the 2027 Miami class so far — but the Hurricanes staff will have two attempts to impress Johnson, so there is reason to be optimistic.
