Miami Hurricanes basketball is actively pursuing North Florida transfer guard Jasai Miles, a 6-foot-6, 165-pound shooting guard from Miami, Florida. Per Travis Branham for 247 sports, Miles, a four-star transfer, has attracted interest from several prominent programs, including Michigan, St. John's, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Pittsburgh, UCF, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Tulane, George Washington, Loyola Chicago, Saint Louis, and UMass.
During the 2024-2025 season, Miles averaged 15.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, earning All-Atlantic Sun honors. His best performances included leading North Florida to an upset victory over South Carolina, where he was the leading rebounder and posting a double-double in a 105-93 win over Georgia Tech.
The potential of returning to his hometown to play for Miami holds special significance for Miles. During his tenure at Miami Country Day High School, Jasai Miles had a distinguished basketball career.
At Miami Country Day, he secured three district titles and a regional championship. In 2021, he played a pivotal role in guiding the team to its inaugural state championship appearance. Miles received several honors throughout his high school journey including Miami-Dade All-County Second Team (2020), Miami-Dade First Team and Third-Team All-State (2021) and Miami-Dade First Team All-County (2022 and 2023).
In his senior year (2022-2023), Miles recorded 15.6 points, 7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. His performance ranked him among the top players in Florida, placing him 135th in field goals made statewide, 26th in Division 3A, and second in the Palm region. Outside of his high school, Miles participated in the Under Armour circuit with Team Breakdown in 2021 and 2022.
As the transfer portal activity intensifies, Miami and new head coach Jai Lucas will continue the rebuild for the program. Last season the Hurricanes tied their record for most losses in a single season.
