Florida State and Miami are currently tied for fourth place in the ACC with 12 wins and nine losses. Finishing fourth in the ACC is critical to earning a double-bye to the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. The 2026 ACC Tournament will be held from May 19 to 24 at Truist Field in Charlotte.

Miami has a difficult ACC schedule at North Carolina State this weekend, Louisville next weekend and at Florida State to finish the 2026 regular season. Florida State hosts Pittsburgh this weekend and is at Clemson next weekend before hosting Miami.

Georgia Tech currently leads the ACC with 19 wins and five losses. North Carolina is second in the ACC with 17 wins and seven losses and Boston College is third with 16 victories and eight defeats. It will be extremely difficult for Florida State or Miami to catch Boston College in the ACC standings.

Louisville, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Stanford currently have 10 wins and 11 losses in the ACC. Clemson is in 16th and last place in the ACC with six wins and 15 losses. Miami has a more difficult schedule in the next two weekends than Florida State.

Entering the final weekend

How the next two weekends play out could have a significant impact on the Miami series at Florida State. If one of the two teams enters the weekend with a lead, it could be a significant advance. If the lead is one game or tied, the winner of the Miami series at Florida State would earn the double bye.

Miami enters play this weekend with 32 wins and 12 losses overall. Florida State has 30 wins and 14 losses ahead of its series against Pittsburgh. Miami and Florida State are both projected NCAA Tournament teams. Miami is currently 29th in the RPI and Florida State is 13th.
