James Madison guard Bryce Lindsay has entered the transfer portal and is considering several programs for the next step in his basketball career. The Miami Hurricanes are among the seven schools on his shortlist that was revealed today, which also includes Florida, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Clemson, USC, and Indiana.

Lindsay, a 6-foot-3, 194-pound guard from Baltimore, Maryland, was originally committed to the University of South Carolina before committing to Texas A&M. For the Aggies, Lindsay appeared in eight games before redshirting and did not play much in the times he was able to see the floor. He did not start a game for them and only averaged 1.8 points per game on 6.9 minutes.

He then transferred to James Madison University where he had a breakout season, averaging 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over 31 games, including 13 starts. His performance earned him the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year honors. He set a new freshman record at JMU with 87 three-pointers made, shooting an impressive 40.8% from beyond the arc. Lindsay set a career-high in points with 28 against the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Flames.

Coming out of high school, Lindsay was a four-star prospect and ranked as the 25th-best combo guard in his class. His scoring ability — he achieved double-figures in 21 games for JMU — and shooting make him a valuable target for programs looking to improve their backcourt. Lindsay is most likely looking for a full-time starting role at a school that will allow him to fully showcase his abilities.

Miami's inclusion in Lindsay's top choices shows head coach Jai Lucas' ongoing efforts to attract top talent through the transfer portal. With Lindsay's decision pending, the Hurricanes remain hopeful that he will choose to bring his skills to Coral Gables.
