In an effort to build on the three commitments received within the last week the Miami Hurricanes are continuing to look to the transfer portal to build the team. Their latest target is Chattanooga point guard Honor Huff, who has garnered significant attention since announcing his decision to transfer.

According to reports, Miami is among several programs that have reached out to Huff. The 5-foot-10 guard from Brooklyn, New York, is seeking to spend his final college season at a high-major program. In the 2024–25 season, Huff played in all 38 games for Chattanooga, starting 36 of them. He averaged 15.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 42.4% from the field, 41.6% from beyond the arc, and 82% from the free-throw line.

Notably, he led the nation in three-pointers made with 131 during the season. That mark was good enough to earn him First Team All Southern Conference honors. Huff was also productive in his sophomore campaign as he averaged 17.4 points per game. He spent his freshman season at Virginia Military Institute averaging 10 points per game on 44% shooting from the field.

In addition to Miami, Huff has received interest from numerous top programs, including St. John's, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Florida State, Memphis, Kansas, Alabama, Auburn, NC State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Xavier, and South Carolina. Huff reportedly has zoom meetings scheduled with Iowa and Florida State.

Huff's ability to score efficiently and his experience as a starting point guard make him an attractive prospect for a lot of programs out there. Just in this past week Huff led Chattanooga to an NIT Championship. The run in the NIT came after Chattanooga lost in the Southern Conference tournament to Wofford, losing out on an auto bid to the NCAA Tournament. Chattanooga was the top team in the conference during the regular season.

Jai Lucas and Miami have received three commitments during the current transfer portal cycle. Malik Renaeu, Tre Donaldson and Ernest Udeh Jr. are the beginning pieces for the Hurricanes program rebuild.
