Brysen Wright isn't committed to the Miami Hurricanes yet, but it's trending that way as we approach November. And the bigger question might be which class the five-star wide receiver is going to enroll in.
The rumors around Wright, the top-rated wide receiver in the 2028 class, suggest that he might be open to reclassifying to the 2027 class. These are just rumors, and the Jacksonville-area recruit has generally shut them down, but they keep coming.Β
First things first, Miami is looking very good in Wright's recruitment, and the potential of Mario Cristobal and staff adding another elite playmaker to a future Hurricanes roster appears very high.

"He's high on Texas, he's high on Florida, but I believe that it's Miami that's setting the pace in this recruitment," Rivals/On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong said. "Nobody is out recruiting Mario Cristobal, Kevin Beard and this coaching staff for Brysen Wright."
5-star WR Brysen Wright sees what he likes in Miami's offense
Wiltfong also mentioned that Wright is heavily weighing what he sees from the teams that are recruiting him. How are they using playmakers? Is the offense built for his talents? This is where Miami is going to grade extremely high because Wright sees the way Malachi Toney has produced and knows that the Hurricanes are going to spotlight their playmakers and put them in position to post Heisman-quality numbers.Β
"Proof of concept is the number one thing that he's looking for," Wiltfong added. "The prolific offense, playing in the big games, winning at the highest level, [and] competing for the national championship last year."
Wright's belief that the Miami Hurricanes are not just set up to win now, but win in the years to come. That's a major endorsement of the belief in what Mario Cristobal is doing. Wright sees Cristobal's commitment to putting together strong staffs, commitment to development, and the trust that he shows in young players as a major positive.Β
If Wright stays in the 2028 class, there's still plenty of time in his recruitment, but if the in-state recruit decides to speed up the clock, then we're about six weeks away from the Early Signing Period. Watch this space on Wright because he could decide to be part of the greatest recruiting class in Miami football history.Β
Reclassification is a big part of Miami's recruiting plan
The trend for Miami in recent years has been to get their top players in a year earlier than expected. Armondo Blount and Malachi Toney are two recent examples of players jumping a class to play for the Hurricanes. Five-star commit A'mir Sears reclassified to the 2027 class over the summer and recently announced his intentions to enroll in January.
Another commit to keep an eye on is quarterback CJ Cypher, where rumors are hot that he'll reclassify to the 2028 class as soon as the high school football season ends. It's another growing trend in recruiting that Cristobal and Miami have been setting the pace.
