The talent in Florida for the 2028 recruiting class is deep even by normal standards for the Sunshine State. And Mario Cristobal is trying to corner the market on all the blue-chip recruits and make sure they sign with the Miami Hurricanes when the time comes.
But Miami isn't the only program in the picture for these five-star recruits and when it comes to wide receiver Brysen Wright, the list of potential suitors is deep.
Wright, the top-ranked pass catcher in the 2028 class, was in Austin for the Ohio State-Texas game and both the Longhorns and the Buckeyes are in the picture for Wright as he takes his time evaluating his options.

Miami has company in its pursuit of 5-star WR Brysen Wright
Big-time recruits attract big-time attention and Wright is arguably the best recruit in this class. He is ranked the number one overall prospect in 2028 according to the 247Sports Composite, replacing A'mir Sears, who reclassified to the 2027 class...and, if we're being honest, is now probably the top overall prospect in that class.
Wright is a physical specimen, listed at 6-foot-3, and 200-plus pounds. When you watch the clips of his games this season, it almost seems unfair for Wright to go up against other high school players. And he's just a junior.
Beyond Miami, Texas and Ohio State, there's also Florida in the top group and then Notre Dame, Alabama and LSU in that group of programs trying to gain more traction with Wright.
What trips does Wright have in the future?
Wright's likely trip to Miami will be October 17 for the FSU game. He's scheduled to be in Gainesville when Florida hosts Ole Miss on September 26.
The Hurricanes have an additional connection with Wright. His quarterback at Mandarin High School, Knox Annis, is a Miami commit and the two are good friends. Malachi Toney has also joined in on the efforts.
"He's recruiting me a lot [to Miami]. That's my dog," Wright said of Annis.
Miami is going o be a major factor in this recruitment and I don't expect a lot of major movement during the season. Maybe one of the other schools joins Miami, Texas, Ohio State and Florida in that top group, but this recruitment is likely going to be won between January and June 2027. That's when Wright is going to get back on the campuses, attend the junior day events and make the official visits.
Cristobal's preparation for the talented players in the 2028 class is in motion and fans are quickly figuring out where he'll do what it takes to win these major recruiting battles. Wright is one of the biggest targets on the Hurricanes board and this staff rarely misses out on those guys.
