While Mario Cristobal has been crushing it out on the recruiting trail, adding studs left and right, there's one miss that people are a little down in the dumps about. On Friday night, 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton announced his pledge to LSU. He won't be making the move to Coral Gables.

Miami signs former Georgia OL in latest transfer win for Mario Cristobal

Seaton was considered one of the top remaining uncommitted prospects out there, which is why Mario Cristobal was going all-in to sign him. However, reports surfaced this week that Seaton was eyeing around $4-5 million in his NIL deal.

When that number first hit social media, people couldn't believe it. At the end of the day, this felt like it was always going to be a bidding war for Seaton. Is that why he's not Miami-bound? We think so, which is why fans shouldn't be disappointed at all things went down this way:

Miami was never going to get into a bidding war for Jordan Seaton

At the end of the day, it feels like Lane Kiffin has been given a blank check to work with when it comes to NIL deals for top targets. He wanted Seaton bad and he was never going to give up on him. The same could be said for his efforts with Sam Leavitt.

Miami also wanted to bring in Leavitt to take over for Carson Beck, but LSU got the job done. Still, Cristobal appears to have Darian Mensah on the way and the Canes also signed former Georgia offensive lineman Jamal Meriweather, who can play either on the outside or inside.

Seaton is considered a generational talent and he's no question going to make an immediate impact for Kiffin next season. We were hoping the monster lineman would have been a stud for Miami, but it just wasn't meant to be. With that said, there was a line money wise Cristobal was never going to cross to get him to town. He stood firm and it was the right call.
