The Miami Hurricanes had five-star edge rusher DJJacobs on campus all weekend and, according to On3/Rivals' writer EJ Holland, they made the most of having the elite prospect on a visit.

Jacobs is currently committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, but Miami has been in the picture for him from the beginning and this is a recruiting battle that is expected to continue through the summer and into the fall.

"Miami is definitely a factor here. The Hurricanes are pushing hard for a flip. If you remember, DJ was considered a Miami lean early in the cycle before Ohio State came in and got a commitment from him, but this one is far from over. He spent multiple days on campus." Holland said.

Miami Hurricanes continue efforts to flip 5-star prospect DJ Jacobs

Jacobs is rated as a top player in the country regardless of position by some websites and even though he's been committed for a few months, there hasn't been much slowdown in his recruitment. Complicating matters a little is that Jacobs' younger brother, Dawson, is a highly-touted player in the 2028 class and that recruitment has given the older Jacobs a chance to check out schools that his brother might be more interested in.

Dawson Jacobs was on this weekend trip to Miami along with the rest of the family taking in team practices and hanging out at the pool party recruiting event, but Mario Cristobal and staff definitely treated this trip as another chance to push DJ Jacobs to a flip.

"Even though Miami is recruiting Dawson, a lot of this has to do with DJ. You don't go for three days for Miami's biggest recruiting event if you're not interested," Hollard added.

With Jacobs continuing to take visits, he seems far from shutting down his recruitment and, as long as that's the case, Cristobal isn't going to stop pursuing the top edge rusher in this class.
