Former Florida State wide receiver Hykeem Williams, a five-star recruit from the Class of 2023, is actively exploring his options in the NCAA transfer portal. After recent visits to Colorado and Pittsburgh, Williams is currently on a visit to Syracuse. Additionally, he is reportedly planning an official visit to the University of Miami early next week.

Williams, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound wideout from Fort Lauderdale's Stranahan High School, was highly sought after during his high school recruitment. During his junior year, Williams recorded 40 receptions for 750 yards and 11 touchdowns. His senior season was limited to seven games, but he still managed 18 catches for 374 yards and five touchdowns. Outside of football, Williams was a standout basketball player, averaging a double-double and leading Stranahan to a 5A state championship.
He was a consensus five-star prospect coming out of high school. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 24 overall player and the No. 4 wide receiver nationally. ESPN placed him at No. 24 in their ESPN 300, while Rivals ranked him No. 23 overall and No. 4 at his position.
He ultimately chose Florida State over programs like Miami, Georgia, and Texas A&M. During his two seasons with the Seminoles, Williams recorded 21 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns. In the 2024 season, he appeared in nine games, starting eight, and tallied 16 receptions for 187 yards and one touchdown.
The University of Miami, which heavily recruited Williams out of high school, remains a potential destination. Given his South Florida roots and the Hurricanes need to solidify their receiving corps, a reunion could be mutually beneficial.
Williams would add depth and versatility to Miami's offense and the potential for him to be a great receiver is still there. Miami WR Ny Carr removed his name from the transfer portal this morning so if Miami is not able to be active, or get Williams, they will still be in good position.
