Right now, Miami football fans who follow recruiting closely are pretty excited at the fact that the Canes are a finalist for wide receiver Monshun Sales. However, he's not the only elite playmaker to keep a close eye on moving forward.

Another 5-star receiver that Mario Cristobal is going all-in on to land is local playmaker Nick Lennear, who has been high on The U for quite some time. In a new interview with 247's Miami insider Gaby Urrutia, the speedster revealed that Miami is at the 'top of the board' for him, which is obviously incredible news. Will this lead to a verbal pledge in the near future?

Miami is hoping to land 5-star WR Nick Lennear for the 2027 cycle

With Lennear being a stud for Miami Carol City High in Opa Locka, it just adds to the pressure for Cristobal to keep a homegrown talent in town. No one has forgotten about Jeremiah Smith leaving the area to play for Ohio State and win a natty with the Buckeyes.

For the 2026 class, plenty of Canes supporters were devastated when Calvin Russell committed to Syracuse. What can we expect of Lennear? He's without question a top priority for Miami moving forward and his latest comments via his conversation with Urrutia sure feel promising.

Lennear is widely considered a lock to be a future stud at the college level, as he's ranked five stars and the No. 4 wide receiver in the country by the 247Sports Composite. Throughout his recruitment, the 5-11, 165-pounder has picked up 21 offers.

His list includes Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and many others. Per his 247Sports page, Lennear has locked in his official visit in Coral Gables for May 27. That could prove to be a game-changer for his process, as Cristobal and his staff will be hoping to grab his commitment. Should that happen, it'd be a monster get for Miami.
