Jaiden Bryant is now family.

The five-star edge rusher committed to the Miami Hurricanes on Wednesday night, flipped from LSU and getting Mario Cristobal one step closer to a top-rated recruiting class. And to celebrate his move, Bryant dropped a celebratory message on his social media to let the fans know that he's all-in on the Hurricanes.

"How 'bout them Canes boy? How 'bout them .... Canes boy! Let's do it. Cane Nation, let's turn up!," the elite prospect from Columbia, South Carolina said.

This comes on the heels of 247Sports' Gaby Urrutia reporting that Bryant has shut down his recruitment and will be back in Coral Gables this weekend bonding with his fellow Miami commits and spending more time with the coaching staff. Previous to making his decision, Bryant had canceled a scheduled official visit to Texas A&M and moved up his official visit to South Carolina for this weekend.

It's been a whirlwind of 24 hours for Bryant and the Hurricanes, but the end result is that he's committed and Cristobal continues building one of the best recruiting classes in program history.

What does Bryant's commitment mean to the Miami Hurricanes?

Cristobal had been targeting a big-time edge rusher in this class, someone that could be one of the centerpieces of the whole class. Miami brought multiple edge rushing prospects in the 2026 class with elite in-state prospect Asharri Charles, four-star local recruit Jordan Campbell and another four-star in-state player, DeAnthony Lafayette. With those three players already in the fold and now Bryant and local recruit Jayvon Dawson, there's a good rotation of young players that will be expected to contribute over the next 3–4 seasons.

That's what this commitment means to the Hurricanes on the field. What it means in the program from a reputation standpoint is just as big. If the earlier flip of five-star cornerback Donte Wright from Georgia didn't convince you that Cristobal isn't afraid to go heads up against any SEC program or coach, Bryant's move should do the trick. Miami, at its peak, never backed down from a challenge on or off the field and Cristobal takes pride in that. He has put together a staff that gets it done on the trail and more importantly, gets it done on the field. Jason Taylor is one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history and those first-ballot Hall of Fame credentials carry a lot of weight on the trail. But he still had to have proof of concept as a coach and that arrived this past season when Rueben Bain Jr. and Akheem Mesidor were All-Americans and selected in the first round of the NFL.

Miami putting together the top-ranked class in the nation is something that will be great for fans. It offers some bragging rights and creates an amazing amount of buzz for the future. Cristobal's concern isn't the outside noise. The staff didn't aggressively recruit Bryant because someone rated him as a five-star player. They recruited him because they believe that the Hurricanes will have a better chance of winning a championship if he is on the roster. The recruiting championship is a nice one to have, but the trophy that comes with winning the CFP is the one that Cristobal wants.
