It's all about The U. On Tuesday, Mario Cristobal and the Miami football team were able to win the massive recruiting battle for 5-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell. Cantwell was down to Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Georgia.
In the end, the lure of playing for Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal was too much for the 5-star tackle to pass up on. How could Tuesday's news get even better for the Canes? Well, Cantwell went ahead and provided an update that should have people pretty fired up.
Right after his commitment, Cantwell revealed that he's all set to graduate high school early and he'll be making the move from Missouri to Coral Gables in December. Not only that, but he said he'll be signing with Miami as early as possible. There will be no second-guessing from the elite prospect. He's locked in with his decision and the Canes.

5-star OT Jackson Cantwell committed to Miami and will get on campus early
Cantwell is a generational talent and the expectation is that he'll be able to push for a starting job as soon as he makes his way to campus. Again, the great news here is that he's going to be arriving in town early, giving him a headstart for his college career.
With him enrolling in time for classes in January, this of course means that Cantwell is going to be able to participate in spring camp next year. He'll be able to learn the playbook and get going against opposing defensive linemen ahead of his first fall camp. This was exactly what 5-star OT David Sanders Jr. did with Tennessee and he's now expected to start at right tackle in '25.
Cantwell is not only the No. 1 OT in the country, but he's also the No. 1 overall prospect for 2026. Cristobal and Mirabal teaming up to land his pledge is a move that's going to be celebrated in South Florida for quite some time. Cantwell is ready to be developed by the best in the business with Miami. Knowing he'll be on the field for spring camp next year too is yet another win for Cristobal and Co.
