New Mock Draft has Cam Ward falling lower than anyone could have imagined

This would not be good for Cam.

There's just no way this happens, right? After the year he had for the Miami Hurricanes, there's been plenty of buzz that quarterback Cam Ward could end up being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Tennessee needs a franchise signal-caller. Enter Ward?

Tennessee is looking at other options, though, which could lead to the stud QB slipping a bit in the draft. However, could the Miami standout fall outside of the Top 5? A week ago, that seemed impossible, but Pro Football Focus released a new mock draft and it has Ward landing with the New York Jets at No. 7.

PFF's new Mock Draft has Cam Ward going to the Jets at No. 7 overall

"With the Jets moving on from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, selecting Ward gives them a new signal-caller and face of the franchise," PFF's Jordan Plocher. "He'll step into a situation with a top wide receiver already in place, while new head coach Aaron Glenn will look to build a strong defense to support the young quarterback."

Jets fans would be in dream land if Wards falls to No. 7. With that said, this would be a total shocker. Interestingly enough, Plocher has Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter going No. 1 and No. 2, followed by the Giants drafting quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 3.

Shedeur over Cam? Should Giants general manager Joe Schoen make that decision, he's going to have even more Big Blue fans angry with him. There's a wild amount of pressure on Schoen to get things right in late April. His job is on the line.

The Giants posted another year to forget in 2024 and a lot of NY supporters were calling for Schoen and Brian Daboll to get fired. Putting all their chips in the middle of the table on Sanders would be a huge risk, especially if Ward is still on the board.

As for the other team in New Jersey, the Jets have said goodbye to Aaron Rodgers and Gang Green is in a similar spot where they need a new QB1 to instill excitement and hope for the fanbase. Ward of course would provide that, as he's a total stud.

However, we find it hard to believe he'll be available at No. 7. If he is, then the Jets would have to jump at the chance to draft him. Ward is going to be a standout in the league. He'll also look to make a lot of teams regret passing on him if he does indeed slide.
