In the competitive arena of recruiting, the Miami Hurricanes are making significant strides under head coach Mario Cristobal. The 2026 recruiting class is shaping up impressively, with Miami currently holding the 14th-ranked class nationally and 2nd in the ACC, according to On3's rankings.
National recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong, Vice President of On3, highlighted Miami's ongoing efforts to land the No. 1 WR recruit in the nation. Keys was out at the first day of practice for Overtime's 7-on-7 league wearing gloves and shoes from Miami. This comes just a little under two weeks after Keys visited Miami on the first day of spring practice.
Keys is a five-star wide receiver from Hattiesburg, Mississippi and stands at 6-foot-2 and weighs 175 pounds. He is ranked as the nation's top wide receiver and the fourth overall prospect, according to 247Sports. In an interview with CanesInsight earlier this month, Keys expressed a fondness for Cristobal. "Like I said he’s an authentic person," Keys said. "Me and him get along."

Keys recently just visited the University of Tennessee and has official visits scheduled with Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn and Michigan (and Tennessee on an official visit). Alabama is also a program high on his list, with Keys planning to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa at some point. Keys' official visit to Coral Gables is set for May 30 to June 1. He has mentioned that he would like to commit when all of his official visits are completed over the summer and before the start of the 2025 season.
Miami has made a recent push in the 2026 recruiting cycle to bring top tier wideouts on campus. Along with Keys, Boobie Feaster, who is the No. 4 ranked wide receiver in the class, has an official visit planned for late May and Jasen Lopez, a four-star WR, has unofficially visited. Messiah Hampton is another name that has been thrown around. Regardless, it looks like Miami has positioned themselves to land at least one big-time WR prospect in the 2026 class.
